Transform Your Manuscript into a Compelling Healthcare Book
You may have already written your first draft. Or you may have a collection of blog posts or videos you’ve created that can be repurposed into a book.
You know if you wait to find the time to perfect your manuscript yourself, it may never get published.
This is where a book editor comes in.
A great book editor crafts a seamless reading experience from your manuscript or fragmented content, ensuring consistent organization, flow, style, and voice that engages readers and compels them to share your book.
I offer a range of editing services to help get your manuscript ready for publication.
- Manuscript assessment: assessing book or pieces of content to determine what works and what is missing
- Competitive analysis: comparing your book to other books on the subject to help guide the editing process and ensure you offer a unique point of view
- Developmental edit: looking at overall organization, rearranging chapters as needed and ghostwriting missing copy
- Medical Accuracy Review/Fact-Checking: ensuring the medical information is accurate and up-to-date
- Line editing: improving grammar and clarity of sentences, as needed
- Proofreading: checking for errors before publication, focusing on typos, formatting inconsistencies, and minor errors.
As a marketing communications strategist, I can also help you identify your most effective core messages, which you can use to market the book. As a healthcare writer, I deliver content you’ll be proud to share in a style that reflects your professionalism, expertise, personality, and values.
Working together, we can build your reputation and success with a book that gains the attention of prospective patients, referring physicians, and/or customers.
Getting your book published
While I don’t work with book publishers, I can help you navigate the best path to publishing. If your goal is to self-publish, I can refer book designers who will create the perfect cover and design pages that give your book the authority it deserves.
What it costs
Book editing costs depend on the state of the original manuscript, its length, complexity, the amount of restructuring and ghostwriting it may require, and whether I also provide professional proofreading. Pricing starts at $5,000.
